As part of its initiative to revitalize the migrant labour community (UDAAN) T-SIG brought together key stakeholders for a meeting in Sangareddy district on April 12, 2023. Seven Govt departments (Labour, Education, Health, Civil Supplies, Women Development & Child Welfare, the District Collector’s office and the Police) actively spoke to brick kiln owners to discuss any bottlenecks.
The aim is to revitalize the Sangareddy brick kiln community in Gummadidala (3800+ adults and children from Odisha who travel to Telangana to work in brick kilns every year) through interventions in health, education, wages and improved living conditions. Our implementation partner is Aide Et Action. The project sponsored by a Spanish major, Ficosa India Engineering Centre is a 6 month long one and has got off to a flying start. This collaboration will see thousands of lives improve steadily.
