T-Social Impact Group (T-SIG) a body of Departments of Information Technology and Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, which was set up to make the impact interventions across the state effective and sustainable by connecting the industrial bodies of Hyderabad and Telangana together with the different Government departments, non-profits and social enterprises towards achieving SDG 17 -Partnerships for the Goals.
T-SIG framework, contains a common online platform and offline focused group meetings, including an annual recognition event to incentivize cross-sector collaborations.4

Abhyasika’s
Project / Objectives: Abhyasikas are YFS run free tuition centers in the slums of Hyderabad. We gather the kids from a slum and run a tuition center in the same slum with a tutor from within the area. The students get help with their regular school work and also other extra-curricular activities.More details..
Spotlight project of the Month:
Lakes Restoration and Beautification:
- Since many years Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) of the government of Telangana, has been focusing on the restoration, beautification and maintenance of lakes in and around the city of Hyderabad. This was initiated to plan for effective waste management and to enhance the biodiversity in and around the lakes with the ultimate goal of sustainable development of the city.
- To encourage corporates to come forward and be a part of these initiatives, one of the spotlight projects adopted by T-SIG has been “Lake Restoration” project. T-SIG organised its 2nd Quarterly Meeting on ‘Lake Restoration’ project on 02-November, 2018 at Salesforce. The meeting was highly successful as GHMC and HMDA officials, along with corporates working in this sector, came together to discuss challenges and efficient ways to restore the lakes of Hyderabad.

Key findings of CSR investments in Telangana
- Investment increase (CAGR) of 58% has been seen over the three years However, CSR Spend in Telangana took a dip of 10% from FY 2015-16 to FY 2016-17 Net CSR Spend in FY 2016-17 was INR 123 Crore 65% of CSR investment in Telangana comes from companies which are headquartered within the state Telangana ranks 13th in India in terms of net CSR investment for the ~19000 companies surveyed More details…

Wanaparthy District:
Having met with the Wanaparthy District collector Ms. Swetha Mohanty, IAS and understanding the needs of the district, T-SIG approached the CSR enthusiast Mr. Pradeep Gadicherla from Broadcom and HYSEA to conduct their social responsibility activities in the district. In collaboration with Sandhata and Manavata, member of UN ECOSOC, they have conducted personality development, Skill development and youth leadership programs.
- In July-August 2018, various issues of girl children were focused upon:
- Raising awareness on girls’ hygiene and sexual harassment against girls at, Apparala Village
- Contributing Rs.15,000 for the construction of washrooms in school in the Apparala government school
- Distribution of sanitary pads to girl students in the village
- Apart from these issues, the focus was also on youth and prisoners. There were personality development programs held at Amadabakula High School and Mahbubnagar jail.
- Training programs done for Farmers to adopt Organic and Sustainable farming methodologies
Youth Employment Program:
T-SIG is proud to share about one more fruitful collaboration happened between the Nirmaan Organization and Ascendas-Singbridge as a result of the Quarterly meetings. Both the entities have signed an MoU for the Youth Employment Program and started a Youth Center at SR Nagar in November 2018. The program aims to train 160 unemployed youth between the ages of 18 – 27 years from underprivileged and economically weaker sections as per market requirements and get the successful placement to 70% of them by April 2019. Trainings and workshops will be given on market-oriented skills (ITes and Web & Mobile Applications), job preparation skills, communication skills, workplace readiness, life-skills and support in placement.
Third Quarterly Meeting:
Since the launch of T-SIG by Sri KT Rama Rao, Hon’ former Minister for IT, Industries, MA&UD and NRI affairs, it has come a long way forward by organizing CSR events, representing the state of Telangana at regional and national forums and have also contributed at creating positive collaborations between government departments, corporates and non-profit organizations.
T-SIG is organizing its 3rd Quarterly Meeting on Women Empowerment 12th of March. This quarterly meeting is directed towards creating one-on-one closed working group engagements focused on the topic. The meeting will be chaired by Smt. Viziendira Boyi, I.A.S, Director, Women Development & Child Welfare, Govt. of Telangana and the Guest of Honours will be the champions who has worked selflessly in women’s empowerment sector. If you are a corporate working towards women’s empowerment or want to engage yourself actively in this sector, participate in this meeting to encourage peer-learning and have a more holistic understanding of this sector. The conclave will bring together all imminent dignitaries from state government departments, corporates and CSR foundations, sector experts working in Telangana.
