Empowering Migrant Labour Communities

We at Telangana-Social Impact Group / T-SIG (the CSR wing of the Telangana Government) hosted a visit to a brick kiln settlement for the US Consulate on June 6, 2024.

US Consulate officials, Mr. Alexander McLaren and Mr. Vijay visited brick kilns in Sangareddy district and interacted with brick kiln workers and students at the worksite school.

Did you know? It takes 60 people 6-8 months to make 40 lakhs of bricks!

Our initiative UDAAN, a collaboration between 7 Government departments and Aide Et Action (NGO), aims to revitalise the brick kiln community through interventions in health, education, child welfare, women development, wages, civil supplies, and law and order.

A shoutout to Mr. McLaren for handing out migration school certificates to children, enabling them to continue their education in Government schools in their home state (Odisha).
