Charter of LVPEI is to provide 50% of eye care to the unaffordable population who need the most at no-cost to the patient whatever the complexity of care needed. With 320 kW capacity installed, they will be able to save Rs.10 Lakhs each month. LVPEI intends to expand and cover 13 Secondary centres. 5 Tertiary Campus including ICARE. It has taken initiative to cover all its campuses with solar energy as part of its environment friendly measures. The project can be implemented as a single project or in a phased manner. LVPEI will be responsible for Service Maintenance and training.

With the present electricity tariff, there will be savings of INR one crore per year. The savings made will help provide critical eye surgeries at no-cost to over 4000+ patients each year approximately
